Privacy Policy

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

• Account information. When you sign up we receive your email address and name through our authentication provider, or the information you choose to share when signing in with Apple or Google.
• Your activity in the app. The actors, directors, studios, and films you follow or save, and your notification preferences. We use this to build your personalized feed and release reminders.
• Notification & device data.A push notification token and your device’s time zone, so we can deliver release alerts at the right local time.
• Subscription data. If you purchase Newvies Pro, our payments provider and the app store tell us your subscription status (active, expired, renewing). We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
• Diagnostics. Basic technical information (app version, platform) and any feedback you choose to send us.

How we use your information

• To provide and personalize the Service — your feed, follows, saved list, and reminders.
• To send the release notifications you opt into.
• To process and manage your Newvies Pro subscription.
• To respond to your feedback and support requests.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Service providers

We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf, only as needed to operate the Service:

• Clerk — account authentication and identity.
• Convex — backend database and real-time sync.
• RevenueCat, together with the Apple App Store and Google Play — subscription purchases and entitlement management.
• Expo / Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivery of push notifications.
• The Movie Database (TMDB) — film, cast, and crew data shown in the app. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, after which we delete your personal data except where we must retain it to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.

Your choices

• Turn release notifications on or off in the app, or in your device settings.
• Manage or cancel a subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

Children

Newvies is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
