Terms of Use

The Service

Newvies helps you follow the actors, directors, studios, and films you care about and notifies you about upcoming and new releases. Film, cast, and crew data is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB); Newvies uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Don’t misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, or use it to break the law.

Newvies Pro subscriptions

Newvies Pro is an auto-renewing subscription offered as a monthly or annual plan. The following terms apply to purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play:

• Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• The price and billing period are shown in the app before you purchase.
• Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renew, in your App Store or Google Play account settings after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly for store purchases.

Apple App Store apps

If you download Newvies from the Apple App Store, your use is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where those terms conflict with these Terms for App Store users, Apple’s terms control to the extent required.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by Newvies and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. Film metadata and images remain the property of their respective owners and TMDB.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Release dates and other film data come from third parties and may be inaccurate or change. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Newvies is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
